Stone Canyon Summer Day Camp

Explore.jpg

Explore

Each day campers will get an opportunity to explore our 99-acre property in Larkspur, CO. by hiking through the woods, examining critters in our creek, and getting up close and personal with the nature around them. With the guidance of our staff, campers will unplug from technology and plug into the natural environment.

Create

Creation is at the heart of our camp. Our goal is to foster an environment where campers can immerse themselves in their curiosity, develop friendships, and discover new skills. With the opportunity to choose from a variety of activities, campers will make memories to last a lifetime!

Play

Our daily schedule is crafted and designed to get campers outside and PLAY! Play encourages kids to test their own limits, be social, and have fun. Under the watchful eye of our staff, campers will have autonomy in selecting and moving among activities within an assigned area. No camp experience would be complete without a day full of opportunities to learn, grow, and of course, play

Cost

Tuition for camp is $310.

To reserve your camper’s spot, a deposit of $150 is required. Click here to learn about our cancellation policy.

Transportation

Tuition includes camper busing to and from camp each day. The transportation drop-off/pick-up location will be in Castle Rock at Douglas County High School’s south parking lot, off of Liggett Rd.

Drop-off: 8:00-8:20am

Pick-up: 4:30-4:50pm

Starting this year, campers must use the provided bus transportation unless they live in Larkspur or south of Stone Canyon. This change is being instituted to help simplify transportation and for camper safety.

We strongly encourage families not to schedule appointments during Day Camp to allow their campers to be fully present for the entire session of camp and maximize time to participate in camp activities and form friendships. If your camper will need to arrive/leave outside of the typical windows, that information needs to be shared in writing at least 24 hours in advance.

Activities

Stone Canyon aims to offer a wide range of activities to appeal to a variety of campers. Over the course of the session campers will rotate to different activity areas and have the opportunity to self-select from a variety of activities being run by counselors in their activity areas. Campers are able to transition within their activity area whenever they want, giving them the autonomy to mold their own experience. A sampling of available activities include:

  • T-Shirt Decorating

  • Arts & Crafts

  • Fort Building

  • Sports activities, including soccer, volleyball, and frisbee

  • Chalk art

  • Scavenger Hunts

  • Gaga Ball

  • And so much more!

Lunch

Stone Canyon will provide lunch and snacks for the campers. Our chefs prepare kid-friendly and nutritious meals for our campers. Stone Canyon is a nut-aware facility and we are able to accommodate most food-related allergies and dietary restrictions. At every meal, we provide the campers with water to keep them hydrated and ready for the day!

Camp Staff

We pride ourselves on having an incredibly talented and passionate team that brings a diverse range of skills and experiences to offer our campers a one-of-a kind experience! Many members of our team have extensive backgrounds in summer camp programming, recreation, coaching, and outdoor education. Our team believes in the incredible potential camp can offer kids, and the growth that comes with building new friendships, challenging yourself to break outside of your comfort zone, and being able to appreciate and enjoy your natural environment. They are the ones your campers will come home raving about!

Your camper's safety is a significant aspect of our team's training. We train our staff to assess potential risks in all activities they are facilitating. We also train our team on our procedures and protocols for emergency scenarios such as severe weather drills, lock-downs, lock-outs, and lost camper drills. Our entire team is CPR and First Aid certified.
