Program Instructors

We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic individuals to provide the very best outdoor education experience to the students of Colorado! With the Rampart Range of the Rockies as your setting, you will have the opportunity to lead 5th & 6th grade students in an expansive range of engaging curriculum and activities, mentor our High School Leads to become strong leaders, and grow professionally and personally in a dynamic working environment. Activity Specialists

Our Conference & Retreat program provides immersive educational experiences for a multitude of groups and school students.  Throughout the year we serve thousands of clients on our 99 acre property.  Although each group has different needs, we provide a variety of custom programming, including teambuilding activities, ecology hikes, high ropes courses, zip lines, astronomy classes, and much more.  As an Activity Specialist, you will be an integral part in the creation, facilitation, and improvement of these immersive experiences.  This position is much more that just a support staff position; it is a job that requires hard work and dedication, but is extremely rewarding.  We believe in development of our staff and do our best to prepare you for whatever a program or client may throw your way.  To see a full job description including requirements and application process, please click on the link below.

Minimum Requirements
Activity Specialists must…

  • Be conscious of risk management techniques during programming

Summer Camp Counselors

Camp counseling is so much more than a summer job, it is a life-changing adventure! When you join the Stone Canyon Team you will immerse yourself in a job unlike any you have ever had before, because you have the opportunity to significantly impact the lives of our campers. Here you will help campers explore the outdoors, develop new skills, and make new friends.  Job duties include but are not limited to singing silly songs, wearing crazy costumes, running around outside, and laughing every day. As an overnight summer camp program we expect a lot from our staff. The hours are long, and there are many responsibilities. But as high as the demands are the rewards are even greater because at Stone Canyon we want to transform how our staff and campers experience summer. Stone Canyon is hiring for two types of counselors, listed below.

Activity Counselor

Activity Counselors are masters of daytime camp activities. They run daytime activities and assist with set-up and tear-down of activities. Activity Counselors do not sleep in camper cabins or provide overnight supervision. They must…

Cabin Counselor:

Cabin Counselors stay in the cabins with campers, providing direct support, guidance, and community. Cabin counselors also run some daytime activities. They must…

Summer Leadership Positions

Camp seasonal leadership staff (Head Counselors, Day Activity Supervisor, Evening Program Supervisor) provide support to the counselors and campers. They are responsible for the supervision of counselors and campers during camp programs. All summer leadership staff must be a minimum of 21 years old and should have completed at least one summer of working at a summer camp or similar experience.

 

Day Activity Specialist

The Day Activity Specialist (DAS) is responsible for coordinating all logistics for the day programs, including scheduling, set up, and tear down of activities. Additionally, the DAS will provide activity feedback and support to the counselors to ensure all campers experience high-quality programs while at camp.

Head Counselors

The head counselors, one male and one female, are responsible for the general supervision of summer camp counselors.  The job includes overseeing cabin groups, providing feedback to counselors, and assisting with any camper/staff disciplinary issues. Head counselors play a vital role in shaping our camp’s culture and creating a positive camp environment.

Evening Program Supervisor

The Evening Program Supervisor (EPS) is responsible for coordinating all logistics for the evening programs, including planning, set up, running, and tear down of activities. Additionally, the EPS will provide assist with running and inventory of the camp store.
